Could the Steelers be traveling to Brazil for a game in 2024?

On Monday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the Philadelphia Eagles will be the home team for a Week 1 matchup that will be played in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

It’s the first ever game in Brazil. It will also be played on Friday, September 6, the first time a Week 1 game has been played on a Friday in 50 years.

The Steelers could be that opponent.

While the exact schedule isn’t released until later this spring, we know who the Steelers will be played at Acrisure Stadium and away.

One of those away games will be against the Eagles. So, there is a chance Pittsburgh will be traveling south to open up the year.

"This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint," Goodell said in a press release.
"Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions."
