LATROBE, PA (93.7 The Fan) – You could see Cam Heyward around Mike Tomlin for much of the preseason game Saturday in Jacksonville. Tomlin is aware of his contract situation and said he’s not concerned about it right now.

Heyward didn’t participate at all in practice Monday after going through individual work most of the other practices at St. Vincent College. With the exception of early in camp, Heyward has not taken part in team work since they started.

“Cam has been doing this a long time,” Tomlin said after practice. “I don’t work Cam a lot in these scenarios anyway, I need to know more about Derrick Harmon, Yahya Black, Logan Lee and that’s the mindset I’ve approached it.”

As for why he doesn’t let these situations impact him?

“It is easy for me,” Tomlin said. “It’s just a component of big business. It’s not exclusive to us or to Cam. It’s going on in a lot of locations. The great thing about it is we’ve had good relations with Cam since he’s been here. He’s been a heck of a Steeler. We communicate formally and informally and I imagine it will remain the same and we will find a way to see our way through these things.”
