PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy’s reactions while attempting to get a play call in Thursday night in Cleveland got most of the attention, but it wasn’t the only time a Steelers player was upset with a coach.

Cameras caught, and the NFL broadcast, TJ Watt taking a headset to angrily communicate with Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.

“Just normal football conversation,” Graham said on Monday. “I’m not going to get into the details of it. Again, just talking to me and talking ball, talking football.”

McCarthy started down the path that things don’t always look the way they really are when asked about it during his weekly news conference on Monday. Then he added that they’ve asked the returning players to make a lot of changes as to why there was that scene. Than it’s different now than it was and they need the players to trust them.

Then this answer to explain it.

“So, with that, you're going to have communication opportunities that may not be exactly the way you prefer them to be,” McCarthy said. “But I think today we're better from it.”

Graham seemed sincere with not minding what happened. Not that he would open up about a conversation with Watt.

“I mean, it's football,” Graham said. “For me, direct communication and not sidestep, I'm okay with that. I asked these guys — again, I honestly think, whether it's the time we spend with them down in the cafeteria, the time we spend doing team building and bonding, it's so we can have conversations and nobody is sensitive when stuff comes up.”

“Put the camera on me. Trust me. I don't want my parents to hear me, but trust me, I say a lot of stuff.”

Graham said anything that was said in the previous game doesn’t matter now. It’s an opportunity to build on what they learned from the loss in Cleveland and attacking the challenge of the Colts.

“I take everything in stride and I take everything as a learning experience,” Graham said. “How it comes out, it comes out, but let's go. Let's go.

By the way, Graham really doesn’t want the camera on him in the coach’s box, his parents are ministers.
