An arrest has been made in the attack of a 12-year-old boy on a Long Beach Transit bus, according to police.
The man was wanted for physically assaulting the boy over the weekend, as he sat on the bus during his trip to his grandmother’s house. Long Beach Police have not released the suspect’s name.
ABC7 News spoke with the boy’s father after the attack.

“This guy just started hitting my son in the head like he was on UFC or something," said the boy's father, Billy Brown. “These were closed fists to the face and to the head. I took pictures of my son's mouth...where [it is] busted on the top and bottom."
Brown told ABC7 his son is recovering, but will not be taking the bus - which he typically rides to school - anytime soon.
Assistant Chief Wally Hebeish credited the public for helping police find the suspect.
“Our mission - ‘Public Safety Through Partnerships’ is only possible with the help of our community,” Hebeish said. “Three days after this assault on a juvenile, tips from our community assisted @LBPD in making an arrest. Great work!”
The suspect was arrested near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and San Antonio Drive in Long Beach. No other details have been released.
