Bel Air residents are searching for answers on who will clean up the mess after this week’s historic storm ravaged their neighborhood.
“There is mud and debris and tree branches from falling trees,” Kristina, who lives on a private easement in Bel Air’s West Gate area, told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian. “We can’t even get our mail. We haven’t gotten our mail in four days.”

Kristina and her family were stuck at home on Monday and Tuesday because the road was flooded with mud. Neighbors on one side had to evacuate because water was gushing out of their home, and a mudslide caused another neighbor’s three cars to collide with each other. The cars are still buried in at least three to five feet of mud.
“I don’t know who is gonna clean this up,” she said. “Is it the city? Is it our responsibility? I mean, Gavin Newsom did declare a state of emergency, so now that it’s over, who’s going to help us?”
Kristina tried calling the city for help, but said she was given the run-around. She and her neighbors haven’t been able to find answers on if or when cleaning crews are coming to assist them.
