In Brentwood, utility crews worked to repair power lines and power poles in one neighborhood after a large eucalyptus tree fell on it Tuesday morning, prompting an outage.
The property owner told KNX News’ Jon Baird the city dropped the ball on dealing with that tree before the storm.
“I was very worried about the tree because a part of it fell a few years ago and we lost power, the exact same thing and we knew the tree [was] too big,” he said. “We called the city multiple times. It was supposed to be trimmed over a year ago. We kept following up. We kept calling. They kept not coming.”
On Sunday night, debris flow in a Studio City neighborhood resulted in 16 people having to evacuate.
Captain Erik Scott with the Los Angeles Fire Departmen told KNX News’ Jon Baird some progress was made in clean up efforts.
“We had several buildings that were along Lockridge Road that had previously been tagged, but we were able to reassess them and now determine they're safe for entry and get those people back into their homes,” he said.
Captain Scott one house is still red-tagged and while another one was yellow-tagged.
Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley said during a press conference Tuesday the department responded to 475 mudslides, 390 fallen trees, and multiple water rescues.
