Three men were taken into federal custody for conspiring to start a cryptocurrency scam for ISIS to buy explosive drones and bombs, according to the Department of Justice.
The men are charged with giving someone they thought was a member of the terrorist group over $2,000 for material support. They were arrested on a complaint filed in the District of Kansas.
Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas, Elias Shamsaldeen, 21, of Porterville, California, and Bereen Dzayee, 25, of Lakeside, California, are accused of their support to be used to attack U.S. service members.
Ghafoor allegedly said it would be “sick” if his name was written on a rocket-propelled grenade to kill US service members and that he wanted to behead a female soldier.
“I wish I could kill 300,000,000 Americans,” Ghafoor allegedly said in an exchange outlined in the complaint.
All three remain in federal custody.
