Two teen brothers, Huntington Beach high school football players, killed in truck collision

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Two teenage Huntington Beach brothers have died after their vehicle collided with a city truck in Huntington Beach on Monday morning, officials said.

Huntington Beach police said officers responded at around 8:15 am. To the intersection of Newland Street and Yorktown Avenue on reports of a crash involving a white 1990 Ford F-250 and a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

The two youths, oshua and Jeremy Page, were rushed to a nearby hospital. They had been driving the Ford truck to school when the accident occurred.

Joshua Page later died from his injuries. Jeremy remained in the hospital in critical condition, according to Huntington Beach, but succumbed to his wounds on Tuesday morning.

Both Page brothers, students at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, were described as star football players and accomplished students.

“I am so sorry to hear about the tragic traffic collision that took place this morning," Huntington Beach Mayor Barbara Delgleize said in a statement. "On behalf of myself and the city council, we wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the families impacted by this terrible accident."

Police said the unnamed 38-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, which belongs to the city of Huntington Beach, was not injured.

An investigation into the crash was ongoing Tuesday morning. Irvine police will spearhead, as a Huntington Beach city vehicle was involved in the crash.
