Husband, wife killed in Cerritos murder-suicide, deputies say

Authorities on Tuesday said it was a murder-suicide that left a man and his wife dead in a home in Cerritos.

The deaths were reported at about 11:45 a.m. Monday in the 12700 block of Andy Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Both the man and the woman -- identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner's office as Gary Johnson, 84, and Gale Johnson, 83 -- were pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no threat to the public, according to the sheriff's department, which released no details about how the two died.
