Video is circulating online showing a man and his dog attacking a Jewish couple on Santa Monica's 3rd St. Promenade Sunday evening.
The video, posted on Instagram by user benjibasire, shows the man yelling at the couple from inside his car, calling them “genociders.” The man then stopped his car in the middle of the road. As the woman called 911, the man got out of the car with the baseball bat and his dog, a Cane Corso.
The man is then seen chasing the couple down.
Santa Monica police say the dog bit the man on the thigh.
The suspect, identified as Tar Nay, was taken into custody and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats. The dog was taken by animal control.
Police say detectives are going over witness statements and video to determine if he will face more charges.
