The family is hoping that the more than 10,000 fliers posted of the missing 30-year-old will bring her home.
KNX News' Nataly Tavidian spoke with Erin, an old friend helping coordinate volunteers.
"We hope, we hope, we hope that we're getting closer. We want everybody to come for her and just know that she's loved and absolutely not forgotten," said Erin.
Most people who joined the effort do not know Kobayashi personally, but her story has gained national and international attention. Many learned about her disappearance through social media groups and news coverage.
Her family believes Kobayashi is still in L.A. and could be in danger. They are calling this move their last Hail Mary.
