A mudslide left a Baldwin Hills home seriously damaged Monday morning.

Dion Peronneau told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian that a sound woke her up at 4 a.m. She initially thought a tree had fallen and ran outside.

Instead, she saw her sliding door slowly cracking and around three to four feet of mud went into her room.

“And there is [was] about three feet of mud that breached that and pulled it off of the frame,” she said.

Peronneau said while she doesn’t know the extent of the damage, she’s grateful no one was hurt and she’s trying to stay positive about the situation.

“As long as it doesn't affect the stability of the house,  I'm good because we can fix this,” she said. “This can be fixed. That's what I'm looking at.”

She added that she’s touched by the outpouring of love she has received so far.

“I've had like 300 texts that I haven't been able to answer because it's overwhelming,” she said.

A GoFundMe was created by Peronneau’s neighbor to help with the repairs.
