
A construction crane toppled over near Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Wednesday, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the operator.

The mishap, which was characterized as "an industrial accident," was reported at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at a construction site in the 31300 block of Broad Beach Road, according to a watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu-Lost Hills station.
The operator of the machine sustained a leg injury, the watch commander said, but he did not have an update on the victim's condition.
Deputies closed off the block where the crane fell and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
