Possible human remains were found during an Easter egg hunt at a park in Long Beach.
Officers responded to the 5900 block of De Forest Ave. at 5 p.m., Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Andrea Moran told USA Today.
The discovery was made in the middle of a family's yearly holiday tradition of looking for Easter eggs. Aerial footage showed several brightly-colored eggs on the path near what looked to be a partially-excavated skull in the ground.
Marc Zaldana told CBS LA he was in the park when he saw the kids discover the remains.
“To be a child and find remains like that, I mean, it'd be traumatizing for a child,” he said.
Police have not released further information about the remains at this time.
