Puppy without nose gets second chance in Pasadena

Peanut the puppy

A puppy that’s lost its nose is getting a second chance at life in Pasadena.

Peanut, a two-and-a-half-month-old husky mix, was brought to the Pasadena Humane Society in bad shape.

“ A good Samaritan actually saw him at a cross street in Sierra Madre, and they noticed that he, you know, definitely physically had some trauma to his muzzle,” Pasadena Humane Society's Sarie Hooker told KNX News’ Karen Adams. “The loss of his nose…he had a fractured jaw, and since then we've just been doing as much as we can to help treat him. “

Hooker said they are working to help him breathe and live comfortably,

“He definitely has that puppy-like energy,” she said. “He's, you know, bouncing around, he's playing with toys, he's always excited to see the staff. It's like, he doesn't quite even know what's happened to him. He's just got a real enthusiasm for life.”

Peanut's not ready for adoption just yet, and a fundraiser for his care has already surpassed its goal.
