Rebecca Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in the hit-and-run deaths of two boys in Westlake Village in 2020.

The sentencing came following an emotional sentencing hearing. KNX News’ Karen Adams reported the family of Mark and Jacob Iskander, as well as their babysitter, pastor, and friends, spoke during the hearing. The Grossman co-founder and her daughter were reportedly in tears.

Prior to sentencing, prosecutors sought a sentence of 34 years to life while Grossman’s attorneys asked for 12 years in prison or probation.

Grossman was convicted in Feb. of second-degree murder and vehicular manslaughter in the deaths of the Iskander brothers.

In a letter to the judge obtained by City News Service, Grossman maintained she was not a murderer.

“My pain, my recognition of the pain the Iskanders suffer, and the pain I watch my family endure, are punishments that I already suffer and will for the rest of my life,” she wrote.

A week before the sentencing, a judge rejected a motion for a new trial for Grossman.
