Police on Tuesday were investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed a transient pedestrian in Santa Ana.

Mario Alberto Romero, 42, was struck by a dark-colored car at about 7:30 p.m. Monday on Fairview Street at Warner Avenue, according to Officer Natalie Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department.
Romero's last known address was in Rowland Heights, she added.
