A pilot program that gives free bus and train rides to students has been particularly successful at Citrus College in Glendora.

KNX News’ Margaret Carrero spoke to Dr. Richard Rams, the vice president of student services at Citrus College, about how more than 2,000 students have benefited from Metro’s GoPass program since they joined in the summer of 2022.

“These students are able to travel to school, internships, work and leisure for free,” he said.

Lorenzo Desiderio said there can be some uncertainty in his life as a second-year student at Citrus.

“However, thanks to the GoPass program, I can be certain that I will be able to go to class on time, that I will be able to go back home and reach any place I wish to go within L.A. County,” he said.

Students from participating K-12 schools and community colleges get unlimited rides on the Metro bus, rail, and 15 other transit agencies with the GoPass program.
