A cat was caught on camera chasing off a coyote wandering through a Pico Rivera neighborhood.
On Friday afternoon, Debbie Beltran received a video from her neighbor showing her 10-year-old long-haired tabby named Mama swiping at and chasing a coyote on Manzanar Ave.

“She chased the coyote off. She did, and… she was so brave because what's the smartest thing she did is she just jumped over that same neighbor's, jumped in her tree just to get away,” Beltran told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “‘Cause [the neighbor’s] got like a high kind of a fence there, a little gate, and so she jumped over that, and well, I guess she outsmarted him at that point.”
Beltran said Mama had a little bit of blood on her paw, but she doesn’t know if it’s from the coyote. Other than that, she said Mama’s doing great and staying indoors.
