Evacuations were issued in a Valley Glen neighborhood on Wednesday due to a bomb squad investigation.
According to Capt. Warner Castillo with the LAPD’S North Hollywood Division, officers responded to the 6100 block of Rhodes Ave. after a woman reported seeing something disturbing in the refrigerator inside the garage.
Officers believed that what they saw was some kind of dynamite stick and called the bomb squad.
KNX News’ Pete Demetriou reported that law enforcement determined that while this dynamite is indeed active, it is, for the most part, stable. He added that officers are transporting it from that freezer into the total containment vessel that the bomb squad uses to hold onto to transfer it safely.
Rhodes Avenue at Oxnard St. is shut down at this time.
