The Wichita State baseball team clobbered Omaha 12-2 on Tuesday at Eck Stadium; the Mavericks came to Wichita on a 10-game winning streak, the longest in the nation.
WSU (12-12) broke open the game early, with six runs in the bottom of the first inning; the Shockers hit three home runs in the game.
Wichita State's leadoff hitter, shortstop Jordan Boyer, was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double, upping his batting average to .418. The Shockers are in the final week of a 14-game homestand during March.
WSU has won five of its last six games overall, and is 9-3 at Eck Stadium on home turf this year.
