(610 Sports) – In somewhat of a surprise, the Chiefs have cut former first-round pick, defensive end Taco Charlton. Charlton, along with defensive back Will Parks, guard Bryan Witzmann, QB Anthony Gordon, and linebacker Riley Cole, were all cut in order for the team to get down to an 80-man roster ahead of tomorrow's deadline.

A highly-touted first-round pick of the Cowboys out of the University of Michigan, Charlton lasted just two seasons in Dallas, totaling just 4 sacks before landing with the Dolphins. Charlton's best season to date was in Miami in 2019, where he totaled 5 sacks in just 10 games.

He was off to a decent start in 2020 for the Chiefs before he broke his leg in November. Charlton finished with two sacks, four quarterback hits, and a forced fumble for KC. With the move to defensive end for Chris Jones and success he's had this preseason, combined with an inability to stay healthy, Charlton wasn't able to make the cut.
