It's the time of year for farms to be visited by families for afternoon fun. But if a loved one mentions wanting to go to "Farmageddon" this coming weekend, don't dismiss it as pumpkin or apple picking. It'll actually be a rousing college football game, thanks to Kansas State's return to relevancy.

The Wildcats, currently ranked 20th in the nation with a 4-1 record, are slated to face Big 12 foe Iowa State in Ames this Saturday night. Kansas State coach Chris Klieman is proving to be an excellent hire for the school, and he has his eyes focused on the big picture.

"Coming down here, trying to make sure we're a perennial Top-25 or Top-20 team every year," Klieman explained to the The DA Show on Friday. "We want to make sure that Kansas State is part of the haves, and not part of the have- nots... That's sustained success. That's what you have to have, to make sure you're part of the haves. That's what we're striving for on a consistent level."

A road win in 'Farmageddon' will certainly go a long way toward Kansas State remaining a part of college football's crop of haves. According to projections from FiveThirtyEight, the Wildcats currently have just a 13-percent chance to earn the Big 12 title, and only 5-percent chance to reach the coveted College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.
