
The 2nd place University of Alabama Blazers were in Wichita last night for a matchup with the red hot Shockers, winners of six straight games. But turnovers plagued the Shox, plus very little production from the bench and Wichita State dropped the home matchup to UAB 80-72.
Corey Washington got his eighth double-double behind a season-high 24 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Xavier Bell added 17 but was just 5-for-17 from the floor. Quincy Ballard recorded his team-leading ninth double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Bijan Cortes rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points and six assists.
Up next for WSU, a trip to Texas for a two-game road swing, starting with a rematch at North Texas on Monday.
