The Yucaipa Animal Placement Society, or YAPS, is a no-kill, nonprofit animal rescue that's been saving lives and finding forever homes for pets in need since 1957. But right now, they're facing a critical challenge.

In recent months, YAPS has seen a dramatic increase in animals requiring emergency, life-saving veterinary care—and their Emergency Medical Fund is stretched thin. At the same time, they're expanding their community impact: thanks to a generous grant from Petco Love, YAPS now offers free pet vaccines on the second Tuesday of each month, with the next clinic happening on Tuesday, August 12.

Jennifer Hurlbut, the Executive Director of YAPS, discusses the rescue's lifesaving mission, how the community can help, and how you can get involved—from volunteering to donations, and yes, maybe even meeting a furry friend!
