Coming out of the pandemic, our Oregon community faced the highest need for food assistance in at least a generation. Last year, the Oregon Food Bank Network saw 1.9 million visits to food assistance sites across the state — a 14% increase from the previous year. Today, 1 in 10 people face hunger in rural, urban and suburban communities throughout the state.
That's why every year since the start of the pandemic, we've worked to raise money for the Oregon Food Bank. Join us for KGON's 5th Annual Friends Feeding Friends Virtual Food Drive and help us end the food crisis in our community! Every dollar we raise provides three meals, so any amount you can donate will truly impact people's lives.
Last year friends of the show helped Terry Boyd's World raise thousands of meals for our neighbors in need, and we want to make this year just as much of a success!
This is a 100% virtual food drive. No lines of cars or cans of cream corn, just monetary donations. You can also DONATE as often as you wish!
Help us reach our goal of getting 60,000 meals out to the Oregon community! Every $10 can equal 30 meals so anything you can provide helps. Together we can support each other through these hard times.
Thank you to our sponsor, First Call Heating & Cooling, who's matching up to $1,000!
About the Oregon Food Bank:
Oregon Food Bank's mission is to end hunger and its root causes, because no one should be hungry. With their network of 21 food banks across the state, OFB also provides resources to over 1,400 food assistance sites throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Pre-pandemic, the OFB Network served over 860,000 people experiencing food insecurity. Now that the need has doubled, they expect to service well over a million people this year.
