If you're looking to express your love for your significant other this Valentine's Day without breaking the heart of your bank account, you should take a look at this list.
Financial website WalletHub released its 2021 list of best places for Valentine's Day.
In a spending survey, 98 million Americans said they expect their significant other to spend less on Valentine's Day and yet more than $21 billion will be spent across the country for the February 14 holiday.
The average person could spend upwards of $165 to show their sweetheart some love, with men spending more than double what women will spend.
With that in mind, the financial website set out to find the most romantic and cost-effective cities in the nation.
They looked at more than two dozen metrics in 100 of the largest cities in the U.S., including meal costs, access to gifts like chocolates, jewelry and flowers, COVID-19 cases, and even weather.
Taking all of these things and more into consideration, the site concluded that the best city in the U.S. for Valentine's Day this year is San Francisco.
Making up the top 10 cities are:
10. Sacramento, CA
9. Orlando, FL
8. Oakland, CA
7 Austin, TX
6. San Diego, CA
5. San Jose, CA
4. Seattle, WA
3. Portland, OR
2. Honolulu, HI
1. San Francisco, CA
