McDonald’s is gearing up for the summer heat with a cool new treat!
To celebrate National Caramel Day, which occurs annually on April 5, the fast-food chain announced the addition of the Caramel Brownie McFlurry.
The twist on the popular dessert features McDonald’s signature vanilla soft serve blended with rich, chocolate brownie pieces and caramel topping, according to the press release.
The new menu item is making its first debut in the U.S. although it was previously available at McDonald’s locations in Canada in 2017.
"As our fans rejoice in the changing of the seasons, we're excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert," said Chad Schafer, McDonald's Sr. Director of Culinary, in a press release. "The flavors in our new Caramel Brownie McFlurry are inspired by that first-warm-day-of-the-year feeling."
Customers will be able to indulge starting on May 3 for a limited time at locations nationwide.
Currently, the franchise only has two McFlurry flavors on-tap: M&M’s and Oreo.
It previously dabbled in other limited-time flavors like Chips Ahoy! McFlurry and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.
And summer at McDonald’s just got even better as the chain announced it’s gearing up for the return of a fan-favorite.
The Hi-C Orange Lavaburst, which was removed from menus in 2017, is set to make its grand return.
It will first appear in select markets before rolling out nationally in June 2021.
In order to track down when the beverage will be available, McDonald’s created the “Hi-C Orange Tracker,” which allows you to plug in your zip code and find out if the drink is at a location near you.
Hi-C Orange Lavaburst is a non-carbonated beverage that was replaced by Sprite Tropic Berry a few years ago. The former drink had been on the menu for about 60 years before being removed.
