Fans of Pete Davidson are holding their breath to see if he’ll return to “Saturday Night Live.”
While the 27-year-old has been with "SNL" since 2014, his future on the sketch series is still undecided.
"Speaking for myself, I don't know what the plan is," he said during an appearance on Gold Derby. "Everything is kind of up in the air right now just depending on scheduling."
It appears Davidson’s contract was only through to the end of season 46, which ended in May.
“It is my seventh year, and that's what the contract is usually for. Right now it's still, it's all up in the air. I gotta talk to Lorne [Michaels],” he added. “It's a big cast, there's a lot of new guys in there, and there's a lot of great new talent that it's their time to shine. I have no idea what's going on right now."
“The King of Staten Island” star also addressed working on the show during the pandemic.
"It was a very crazy, long period of time and I wasn't ready for the season to end yet because I was really having so much fun,” he continued. “The last show was a full audience for the first time and just hearing that full laugh was so emotional. It made me very emotional to be able to perform in front of a full crowd again."
In May, Davidson made it seem he was done with the iconic comedy series.
"Yeah, I'm good. I'm surprised I made it to seven. I'm ready to hang up the jersey," Davidson told The Hollywood Reporter. "Kenan's like, f---in' Karl Malone out there,"he said, referring to his "SNL" co-star Kenan Thompson’s 18-season run.
According to Page Six, NBC won't make contract decisions for the upcoming season until late summer.
