Walking in your parents footsteps takes on a whole new meaning when Ghostface is involved.

Ahead of “Scream’s” 25th anniversary, David Arquette spoke with ET about reprising his role as Dwight "Dewey" Riley in the latest iteration.

Arquette will be joined by some of the franchise’s original cast members, including his ex-wife, Courteney Cox.

While the couple’s 17-year-old daughter, Coco, hasn’t voiced her interest in joining the horror franchise just yet, Arquette would definitely support that decision.

"That would be incredible," he noted.

He continued: "She loves acting. She loves singing. I'm so proud of her,” he explained.

With all those talents, it definitely doesn’t seem entirely out of the realm of possibility.

However, for now, Cox and Arquette will face-off against Ghostface themselves when the film hits theaters on Jan. 14, 2022.

Arquette divulged that he had an inkling back in 1996 that the Wes Craven film would be a smash.

"Wes Craven, he's such a genius and the cast got along so well. So I knew it was going to be something special," Arquette explained.

Cox will reprise her role as reporter Gale Weathers, while Neve Campbell will appear as Sidney Prescott.

Entitled “Scream” just like the original, the fifth installment will premiere 11 years after the last chapter, Scream 4, was released in 2011.

Most gratifying for fans is that Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original 1996 “Scream” movie and two of the sequels, is back as an executive producer on the new movie.

As for the plot, it’s pretty straight-forward: A new killer puts on the Ghostface mask and begins targeting teenagers to resurrect secrets from Woodsboro's corpse-filled past.
