ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Fresh off a successful hosting of the 2020 NHL All-Star game, St. Louis is right back at it, trying to attract more major sporting events to the city.

Earlier this week the St. Louis Sports Commission submitted 51 bids to the NCAA, hoping to host everything from March Madness Tournament regionals to the Frozen Four to the College Cup soccer finals between 2022 and 2026.

Vice President of Events Chris Roseman tells KMOX that in its bids, the commission concentrates on understanding of the events and building out a schedule of opportunities surrounding the specific games.

"It's more about the venue and it's more about the hotels and more about understanding how to put on first-class events for student athletes, but also how to build around that event to make sure it gets bigger than the action on the ice, the action on the courts, the actions on the field," Roseman says.

Roseman says without the Enterprise Center renovations St. Louis wouldn't have a chance to host many of the events and for the first time the Commission is including the MLS stadium in its bids.

St. Louis is competing for all these events with cities from coast-to-coast. NCAA will announce the winners in October.

This year, St. Louis will host First and Second Round March Madness games next month and will host as the 2020 U.S. Olympic Gymnastic Team Trials in June.
