WeWork signs deal to operate office-sharing space in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Score another business win for downtown St. Louis.
New York-based WeWork has signed a lease at One Metropolitan Square for 60,000 square feet of office-sharing space for entrepreneurs, freelancers, startups, and businesses who need just a bit more space.
WeWork will be located on the 22nd and 23rd floors of the Met.
David Steinbach with JLL represented the 601W Companies as the exclusive leasing brokers for One Metropolitan Square. “The building’s amenities, property management, and proximity to downtown dining and entertainment attractions all contributed to WeWork’s decision to locate at One Metropolitan Square. They considered a number of different locations throughout the city and found One Metropolitan Square to be the right fit.”
601W Companies owns One Metropolitan Square. It's been spending $2.5 million in renovations in recent years to upgrade the building’s amenities to include downtown’s first food hall and a massive 28 x 10 foot media wall in the building’s lobby.
The company also announced Wednesday that plans are currently in the works to add a tenant lounge this year on the 42nd floor that will feature an open, modern floor plan with seating areas for socializing, a bar, and game tables.
