ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Cardinals are playing a good run of baseball recently and that has pleased Oli Marmol.

The month of May started incredibly rough for the Cardinals, winning only one game of their first 10 to begin the month. But the Cardinals have found a run of form, winning seven of their last nine, winning series' against the Los Angeles Angels, Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox.

The recent on-field success has seem to have relaxed the Cardinals clubhouse, but more importantly, it has pleased the man in charge of the clubhouse in Marmol.

"I like the type of baseball we been playing, the style of baseball and we need to continue," said Marmol on Total Information A.M. Wednesday morning right before the Cardinals 3-1 win against the Baltimore Orioles to win their third straight series.

A big part of the success have been the Cardinals improvements in the batter's box, posting a 110 Weighted Runs Created Plus (WRC+) in May, which is tied for ninth-best in the Majors.

While players like Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan haven't seem to put anything together yet, other players in the lineup like Michael Siani, Nolan Gorman, Alec Burleson and Lars Nootbaar have seen good performances in the month.

"They have played extremely well, the bats are starting to come together and that has been the biggest piece to this whole thing," said Marmol. "The offense is hitting like it supposed too."
