ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Opening Day was underway Thursday across the Baseball world, with the Cardinals kicking off in Los Angeles with a four-game series against the Dodgers.
Busch Stadium won't be seeing their Opening Day festivities begin until Thursday, April 4 when the Miami Marlins come into town.
There will be a lot of new things that are coming to the ballpark when Cardinals Nation makes their way to Busch Stadium beginning April 4, from the delicious new foods and stands making it's debut at the stadium, and a new pavilion too.
The Budweiser 703 Club will be making it debut at Busch Stadium in 2024, replacing the Budweiser Bowtie Bar & Left Field Porch, positioned in left field pavilion right under Big Mac Land.
"It will be now this really huge space with really premium service," said Cardinals Team President Bill Dewitt III. "It will have a really high model end of service in a really cool-sleek modern warehouse type of look."
When KMOX took a visit to see the new 703 Club, a $2.5 million 300-seating pavilion which honors Cardinals Legend Albert Pujols, the day before the 2024 MLB Regular Season would kick off domestically in the U.S., work was still being done on the inside of the club to get it ready for Opening Day at Busch.
"They are in there frantically working with a week left before Opening Day," said Dewitt III to KMOX. "But they will get it finished. We're really excited about this new club."
The club will have a full bar service and an all-inclusive buffet setup and while they are working to get the finishing touches done, the bars and kitchen area seem to be already prepared.
One of the new coolest features in the 703 Club is outside the club with mesh exterior seats, one's that were more comfortable compared to the normal hard plastic seats at Busch Stadium.
Dewitt III hinted that that seating could potentially move on to other parts of the stadium if reviews of it become pretty favorable.
"The seats are this new mesh technology-type that is cooler, so on a hot day, it be cooler, but it be just as comfortable as the old ones," said Dewitt III. "It could be a preview of what's to come in future areas of Busch Stadium."
"It's a little different product offering compared than we have to our other clubs, but the newness and excitement of it will get fans to really respond," said Dewitt III.
Dewitt III, says the price of the seats that comes with all-inclusive bar and buffet, will be on the highest end of the cost spectrum when it comes to seating prices at Busch Stadium.
"We price things dynamically at Busch Stadium, so your Opening Day price will be more than Game 2," said Dewitt III. "For this particular seating category, it is on the higher due to all-inclusive food and beverage, so you will see the price being around or over $100, but you will see some discounted days where it's less than that."
