GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOX) - Police in Madison County, Illinois are warning people about a woman who's been walking up to random homes and taking photos or video of "the inside of the residence."
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says it can't confirm any illegal activity, but wanted the public to be aware of this mystery woman. They say a white woman in a silver car was reported by multiple people in Troy and there have been similar reports in Granite City.
"At this time, there is insufficient evidence to substantiate that a crime has occurred; however, the Sheriff's Office wanted to make the public aware of this," police stated.
Video from multiple homeowners was shared with local news of the woman.
"It's very weird," one homeowner told Fox2. "I think the biggest concern is I know this woman from nowhere. She walks up to my house like she's on a mission and takes a photo of my door."
Some have commented on social media saying that the woman claimed she works for a bank and they sent her to take photos. But others says that's not true.
Police are asking the public to contact your local police department if suspicious activity is/has occurred.
