Pine Lawn is going under the microscope. In many cases the State Auditor focuses on finances but in this instance Scott Fitzpatrick says he'll be examining the "efficiency and effectiveness" of the city's operations.
Fitzpatrick says he's especially interested in, as he puts it, why Pine Lawn "seems to struggle with fundamental concepts such as transparency and accountability."
Pine Lawn Mayor Terry Epps tells KMOX he isn't concerned about what an audit of his north county community could come up with.
Our Michael Calhoun asked Epps if the city will cooperate with any records requests. "Yes. We'll comply fully. 100%," Epps said.
In June, Pine Lawn aldermen had to delay their meeting by four days because of a citizen protest over conditions in the north county community.
