St. Louis is moving forward with another big riverfront development.

The Port Authority voted Thursday to enter into a preliminary agreement with the firm M-2 Development Partners of Nashville. The developer plans to build on the site of the old North Shore Golf Course, creaing a 67-acre development called Lighthouse Point.

The development would cost $325 million and include themed hotels, a marina, a waterpark, restaurants, limited supporting retail and more.

This follows the recent announcement of another major development on the riverfront, just south of the Poplar Street Bridge, as well as the new St. Louis Zoo WildCare Park in North County.

Neal Richardson, Executive Director of the St. Louis Development Corporation, said in a press release that the North City project bodes well for the future of the riverfront.

"There is a lot of positive momentum surrounding development opportunities in the Port Authority district," he said. "SLDC is very excited about Lighthouse Point, which will continue to transform our riverfront, bring training and quality job opportunities to the citizens of St. Louis and invest in the revitalization of North City."
