ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in suburban St. Louis are searching for a suspect in the shooting of a young girl as she walked along a North St. Louis County street.
The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. Sunday along Earl Drive, the St. Louis County Police Department said in a news release. Arriving officers found a girl about 10 years old suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The girl was taken to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
Investigators said the girl was walking with another person, who was not injured, when the shooting occurred. Police had not announced any arrests or suspects in the case by Monday morning.
