Return to sender: Ballots returned after primary by mistake

For more than a year KMOX has reported on people not receiving their mail from the United States Postal Service.

Return to sender: Ballots returned after primary by mistake

For months and months KMOX has been reporting on all the problems the United States Postal Service has and continues to have.

But something new popped up this week: Saint Louis City residents had voting ballots they sent into the Board of Election Commissioners returned with a yellow stamp saying the address is vacant.

That address, PO Box 1355 St. Louis Missouri 63188-9701 is not vacant nor has it been for decades.

That's where the election board has been for years.

This is not an isolated incident. It has happened to more than one person. That means, St. Louis City voters mailing in their ballots, likely did not have the votes counted.

The Board of Elections confirmed this has happened and should not have. KMOX has reached out to USPS and have not had a reply. We will also be contacting Denny Hoskins, Missouri's Secretary of State, to see if his office is aware of this and what he plans to do to make sure this does not happen in November.
