On a recent Saturday at Central Library's auditorium, St. Louis Story Stitchers took to the stage with songs, poetry and more. The organization for young people working to create social change with a focus on gun violence prevention has published Not Another One: A Play for Peace.

Brandon Lewis is the youth coordinator for the project. He told KMOX's Debbie Monterrey about the basis of the project.

"Not Another One is a six-year collaborative project, which includes an album, a book, a curriculum," Lewis said. "It's available for anybody who would like to put the play on. We'd love to see it in schools. We'd love to see it at libraries, we'd love to see it in acting camps."

St. Louis Story Stitchers is a nationally recognized artists collective and a resident organization of the Kranzberg Arts Foundation. They also have a studio on the Delmar Loop for recording. Lewis said it benefits the kids who get involved in a lot of ways.

"Not only is it free for them to participate in, but after completing the four week program, we actually pay them," he said. "So if you have kids that are interested in podcasting or that are just all around artistic, you see what the kids up here are doing, if you got kids that are like, 'My kid could do that, my kid likes to do that,' or what not we we absolutely encourage you to have them apply."
