The 34 endangered humped tree snails (Partula Gibba) were rescued in Guam in early July ahead of Super Typhoon Bavi, a month after Super Typhoon Sinlaku damaged the island in April.
The snails now live in the Bayer Insectarium at the St. Louis Zoo .

Zoologist Manager of Invertebrates at the Zoo, Kayla Garcia, says the population was nearly wiped out after Typhoon Sinlaku, and the animals were rescued in order to keep the population alive.
