St. Patrick's Day Beer & Food Pairing
March 16
Experience the luck o' the brewery at the St. Patrick's Day Beer & Food Pairing Dinner at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten. Hosted by the head chef and certified cicerone, the experience will take your palate on a journey across the Irish countryside. The four-course meal will begin with Irish pub pasties, flaky pastry filled with shredded roast beef and potatoes, served with a savory Bud Light-infused roast beef gravy and paired with green-tinted Bud Light. Next, the Reuben soup with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese is thick and creamy. Wash it down with an Irish red ale from Anheuser-Busch's research pilot brewery. The main course will be a Dublin coddle consisting of layers of sausage, bacon, potatoes and onions, which are braised in Irish stout. The entrée will come with Breckenridge Nitro Irish Stout. For a sweet finish, an assortment of shamrock-shaped shortbread cookies will be paired with Cutwater Irish coffee.
The New Works Collective
March 16 to 18
Experience the future of opera with three all-new 20-minute works. Last winter, more than 130 artists applied to create new operas with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Ultimately, three multi-genre teams were selected by a panel of St. Louis artists, advocates and community leaders. Now, those three teams will prove just how innovative, inclusive and fun opera can be. The stories will whisk audiences from 1920s Harlem to the modern-day Supreme Court and the exuberance of drag ball culture to the empowerment of a young female inventor. Get ready for a night full of boundary-breaking surprises and joyful voices as the operas celebrate diverse cultures, stories and the power of the human spirit. Every night of the event, from March 16 to 18, includes performances of all three operas in the New Works Collective.
Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express
March 17 to April 9
It's 1934, just after midnight, and a snowstorm has stopped the opulent Orient Express sleeper train in its tracks. A wealthy American businessman is discovered dead, and the brilliant and beautifully mustachioed Hercule Poirot must solve the mystery before the murderer strikes again. Agatha Christie's plot-twisting masterpiece takes audiences on a suspenseful thrill ride that Broadway World calls, "Everything you could want – broadly drawn characters, exotic settings and a spectacular murder." Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express is presented by The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis in arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
