The over 15 feet tall dirt mound sat on the empty block at 2221 S. 9th St.
Residents say small amounts of the dirt first appeared at the beginning of the year before the large pile was condemned in late July. Shortly after, the Acting Building Commissioner for the City of St. Louis said if the dirt wasn't moved in a timely manner, the owner of the plot would be heavily fined. Construction crews have been on site daily ever since, working to remove the dirt.
But as of this weekend, the plot is empty.
