ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two people have been transported to the hospital and part of a building collapsed onto a vehicle that smashed into in St. Louis Wednesday afternoon.

The St. Louis Fire Department says the driver of the car was able to free himself before emergency crews arrived on the scene at Compton and Arsenal. The injuries to the two people transported are non-life threatening.

The department shared a photo of the car covered in bricks and debris. Then also posted video of crews knocking down more loose bricks:

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. and the fire department says they used a "winching system to extract the vehicle from the building" to check and see if anyone else was inside it.

No other details about the crash were immediately released.
