ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A woman has been shot to death and a 7-year-old girl wounded in Thursday night gun violence in St. Louis' North Point neighborhood. It happened in the same location where a teenager was shot and killed last month.
Police got the call at 7 p.m. and found the woman dead and the child with a bullet wound to the ankle.
Police data says this is the 57th homicide in St. Louis City this year, outpacing the record rate of 2020. In addition, there are numerous shootings and killings with women and children as intentional or unintentional targets. This victim is the second woman shot to death in St. Louis in less than 24 hours.
The killing was at the intersection of McLaran and Goodfellow, the same place where 17-year-old Joseph Williams was found shot to death in a crashed car on April 6th. That was part of a double-homicide that day.
