"No Labels has been stunningly clear, that it is not their intent to be a spoiler," in 2024 election says Jay Nixon.

Efforts by the third-party political group No Labels to get a centrist Presidential candidate on the ballot for the November 2024 presidential election continue nation-wide. So far five states have granted the group some early ballot access.

This week, a familiar name joined the organization, former Missouri Governor Jay Nixon as their ballot integrity director.

He says there is some urgency in the group's efforts.

"The first step you have to do, is you have to get ballot access. None of this works if you wait too late, and the way these arcane rules are around the country, you have to get involved in this time. I would say the next six or seven months are the most important time for that ballot-access issue," says Nixon.

Many political observers point to polling that shows Donald Trump beating President Joe Biden and regaining the Presidency if No Labels is able to put a candidate on the ballot. Nixon disagrees.

"I've not bough into this that No Labels would be a spoiler," says Nixon. "They have said they won't be, as this [moves] forward, that's not their intent. Their intent is if they can find the right candidates to get the right issues would be to win! It's not an effort to spoil or lean one way or the other, and I'm confident. There are major supporters of both our current president and our former president that would be involved in this."
