ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Bradley Carnell and St. Louis City SC had a fantastic first season in the MLS, with Carnell guiding the club finishing atop the Western Conference and clinching a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League next season.
Now Carnell will add a bit more silverware to the season and honored for his leadership, with the Missouri Athletic Club announcing Wednesday that Carnell has been named the club's Sports Personality of the Year.
Carnell will receive the award at the club's Jack Buck Sports Awards on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Missouri Athletic Club.
While it was not the ending that St. Louis City SC wanted, the club and Carnell still had a fantastic inaugural first season in the MLS with the club finishing atop the Western Conference and clinching a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League next season.
Carnell will join a list alongside Whitey Herzog, Norm Stewart, Charlie Spoonhour, Dick Vermeil, Gary Pinkel and Craig Berube as winners of the award.
