Kelsey Wilson, 30, and Zachary Wilson, 32, both of Springfield, each pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to a misdemeanor count of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building, the Kansas City Star reported.

Both face up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine, on top of them both being required to pay $500 in restitution for damage to the Capitol – prosecutors say damages on that day totaled about $1.5 million.

They are the second and third Missourians to plead guilty, following Nicholas Reimler of St. Louis County who pleaded guilty on Sept. 17 to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. More than 650 people have been arrested in connection with the events that day.

The FBI was given an anonymous tip about the Wilson's involvement with a link to a Facebook post by Zachary Wilson about entering the Capitol and going into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. It indicated Kelsey Wilson was also with him.

“Wilson stated the reason he entered the U.S. Capitol was because he wanted his ‘voice to be heard’ as he was a strong supporter of President Donald Trump,” according to court documents. “Wilson said that he did not participate in any destruction of property while at the U.S. Capitol.“

Kelsey Wilson was arrested in August on the charge. Her husband was arrested in February.

Court records indicated Kelsey Wilson was a new first-grade teacher at Dayspring Christian School in Springfield at the time of her arrest. The Star reported that she told investigators she expected to be fired following her arrest.

The school confirmed Tuesday that she was no longer employed there.
