The Wichita City Council will consider privatizing the operation of Century II convention center, possibly eliminating a 2.5 million-dollar tax subsidy. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the idea is to make the facility self-sustained, to an extent. But he says the City will probably continue to helping to pay for repairs and upkeep.

Police Chief Gordion Ramsay says Wichita recorded a dramatic increase in homcides in 2020 ... many of them the result of domestic violence. Mayor Brandon Whipple says the treatment of violators may need some changes, such as requiring first-time DV offenders to take anger management classes or otherwise seek help.

Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor ... on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
