Overnight shooting leaves one dead in southwest Wichita

UPDATE: 12:25 P.M.:

A shooting Sunday morning leaves a 35-year-old man dead.


It happened around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, in the 1700 block of south Glenn, near Seneca and Harry in the southwest part of the city. Wichita Police say a 45-year-old woman arrived at a friend's home to find the man unresponsive. The victim, 35-year-old James Winston, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Police continue to work this case, which is not believed to be a random incident.

A shooting overnight has left one man dead.

It happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of south Glenn, that's near Seneca and Harry in southwest Wichita. When Wichita Police arrived, they found a man in critical condition. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died.

Our news partners at KSN-TV report the man was in his 30s and that police have no suspects at this time. 

WPD Sergeant Matt Balthazor tells KSN it's important to get the public's help in solving cases like this. Police have interviewed witnesses and will continue their investigation this morning.
